Been out in the garden...cut down the huge Escallonia that was out of control, it was rubbing against the shed and the edge of its roof and i didnt want the roof felt to tear like it did before, when it and leaked through to the inside, plus, you had to squeeze past so if it was wet you got soaked, been threatening to sort it out and decided today was the day, i can now see my shed, in this photo the bush is still next to the shed...moved the old "stray cat" house, which she didnt use even after id put carpet inside it, she liked the old rubbish one that i made out of an old plastic container, but it fell to bits so i got this one that was used for transporting cats, and did she go inside ....no, and anyway, she was fooling me, she lives down the road !
rice cakes for lunch yesterday...trying to lose a few pounds before i go on holiday..its a losing battle really...and after a week, rice cakes and ryvitas tend to lose their appeal, and this is only day 1
wow its cold this morning..off to work in a bit, ordered some Mulberry paper to decoupage my mannequin with, decided it was worth the expensive paper as i want it to last longer, chose a not too "bitty" type , think its just called banana..hope it comes soon, and the gluing will begin! or i may just paint it ?
But first i must use my stepper, hate the dam thing but needs must..............
Just limped off my stepper...no easier today, ironic though, the 3rd Bee Gees song..staying live !! but feeling half dead..how pathetic am i ? 15mins tops and im done, my own fault, i hate exercise of any kind, except walking and the dogs cant walk fast now,and im not going round the streets on my own, and i never stick at a class, fancied zumba then thought twice, cause id be the one at the back having a heart attack after 5 mins...so stepper it is...i feel ok now, coffee is calling
At last....spring has come to my garden...the snowdrops are almost in bloom..next time the sun pops out im going to do some tiding up, it will be good for the dogs to get out too, but i know they will soon go back inside to lay on the sofa, they only stay out if they can sunbathe !
This was the bird bath when we had snow and ice, had to put hot water into it, the birds were very thirsty, they didnt even let the water cool down...im going to post at least once a week from now on, hoping to show the changing face of the garden as the winter retreats

back from work...was lovely and toastie there, now im in my igloo....it must be and age thing, cause years ago in my twenties, i didnt have central heating, i had a small electric bar fire, which was hardly on cause it cost so much, a tiny calor gas heater, no heating in the kitchen or bedroom, ice and icicles on the insides of the window panes, but i cant remember feeling the cold so badly as i do now...hope the gas man comes soon, i wont be back till much later, if i can prise myself from beneath the blanket
NEW....lovely soft cowl in chunky soft wool mix yarn, 23 cms deep, £16 plus P&P
Back from work now, the grit hubby put out made a big difference, the sun is trying to melt the snow....the birds are hungry, ive got loads of crusts for them today and fat balls, wish the Waxwings would visit my garden...had to break the ice on the pond and straight away, Robin went and got a drink....snooker this afternoon....later yesterday i decide to make a cowl, so i reminded myself how the pattern went then i cast on the 49 sts, for a min i couldnt work out how i could crochet into the 4th stitch, then i realised, it was because id done a knit cast on not a crochet one and was holding knitting needles and not a crochet hook....oh dear things are getting worse lol
Here are my two doggies in the car after their walk
saw 4 deer and a buzzard on our walk this morning, its getting a lot lighter now...spring is maybe coming...strike that, snow is forecast for tonight and zero temps tomorrow morning, best keep my big winter jacket out, got this jacket many moons ago, and im talking maybe 16 or so yrs,in a outlet in Yorkshire, just off the A66, think they turned into into housing now, i bought it a bit on the big size, its now really too big but its got an advantage, i can now wear a cardigan and a body warmer under it..and 2 yrs ago when we had that really bad winter and i had to walk to work, i was so glad of this jacket, i was nice and cosy in all the layers plus its got a huge hood...so every winter i dig it out of the wardrobe and wear it to go to work
